Allport Packaging Achieve Environmental Accreditation

gravatarAllport Packaging Limited is pleased to announce that it has successfully passed the full ISO14001:2004 re-assessment in respect of their Environmental Management System.

Allport Packaging is proud of it’s commitment to reduce the impact on the environment by recycling all corrugated waste and the majority of polyethelene foam waste. Timber waste is used to heat the factory and does not go to landfill.

In the last 3 years landfill has been halved and gas expenditure for heating the large factory at Silchester has been reduced to zero with the installation of a bio-mass heating system which runs off timber offcuts from the site and waste pallets from other Allport companies.

Energy efficient lorries, movement operated lighting and close control of surface water and hazardous substances were clear objectives in the Management System together with adherence to all environment legal requirements.

All timber is sourced from sustainably managed and certified forests and complies with ISPM15 regulations.
