Gatwick Doubles Capacity

Allport affirm commitment to London Gatwick by doubling capacity at their AMSA secured freight centre by the airport.

David Ward, commercial director (air) explains.

“Gatwick continues to be a major hub for air freight, but volumes have declined in recent years, which is why so many forwarders have elected to consolidate their operations at Heathrow.”

“Southern England still retains a significant manufacturing export base, particularly in technology, science and electronics. It is these sectors that are supported by our Gatwick operation and it is in response to their increasing demands that we have doubled capacity to 30,000 sq ft.”

“The additional space means that we can expand the footprint of our export packing and time critical ‘Aircraft on ground’ operations within the freight centre and transit more export consignments.”

“The Gatwick freight centre is also the export Gateway for our popular African services, which have demonstrated robust growth in recent years.”

“With Allport offices in South and West Africa driving demand, we anticipate that we will be looking for even more space before too long!”
