On June 25th Etihad Airways of Abu Dhabi agreed a deal to bail out the ever-struggling Alitalia for a 49% stake in the Italian carrier.

The Alitalia deal see’s Etihad continue to compete with its fast-growing rivals from the Gulf, Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways.
