Allport Cargo Services Acquires ECT

Allport Cargo Services is pleased to advise that the company has entered into a binding agreement to acquire 100% of ECT, a long-term forwarding partner of Cargo Services in France and member of Far East Cargo Line (our NVOCC). The transaction is due to complete by the end of June, and includes all the companies within the ECT group.


ECT was founded in 1992 in Le Havre by, Mr. Eric Coicaud, as a sea-freight forwarder. Sister companies were set-up to provide transport services (ECC) and logistics (ECL) and ECT owns a 12,500 sq.m. bonded warehouse outside the port of Le Havrewith space for 17,000 pallets. In 2006 an office was opened in South France and in 2010 in Paris CDG to cater for air-freight. ECT has just opened new offices in Nantes and Bordeaux on 2nd May, 2017 in order to expand the companies coverage with special focus on the growth market in wine and food perishable exports to China. The new offices will support the Cargo Services Group strategy to unlock the potential of the China consumer market. 


ECT will be renamed as Allport Cargo Services in the future and ACS plans to deploy its "Technology-enabled Supply Chain" solutions that are market leading within the UK, in the French market.


Charles McGurin, Group CEO of Allport Cargo Services, said that he was very pleased that after many years of working together with ECT as part of the Far East Cargo Line NVOCC (non-vessel owning common carrier) network, that ECT was now joining the Allport Cargo Services Group. ‘ECT will help Allport Cargo Services to better service our customers within France, and Europe generally, and I am very happy that Eric Coicaud will remain as the head of ECT to drive its development in the years ahead. We are very excited about the opportunities that this acquisition will bring to our group. ’


Eric Coicaud, President of ECT, said that he looked forwarding to adding Allport Cargo Services’ proven retail supply chain expertise to ECT’s existing range of services. ‘I look forward to growing Allport Cargo Services within France and helping to make our customers lives simpler in line with the Allport Cargo Services’ mission.’
