As part of the ACS charitable donation programme, on Tuesday 13th of March, Nick Toye, Leanne vowles and Tom McConalogue, from ACS Tilbury handed over a cheque for £2,500 to Leanne Kightly a member of the fundraising team at St Luke’s Hospice.
The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people living in the Basildon and Thurrock districts with any life threatening, life limiting disease. This often means cancer but also includes other illnesses that are no longer curative, such as Heart Failure, Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or Motor Neurone Disease for example.
It costs over £5.5 million every year to keep the hospice running. Although some funding is received from CCG’s (NHS), St. Luke’s still has to raise the majority of income needed each year.

The ACS charitable donation programme means that each quarter a different office chooses a cause close to their heart, and we think this was a truly worthy choice.
