Allport has today been granted full Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status by HMRC to complement its rapidly developing global Ethical, Safe and Secure (ESS) initiative.
The ESS program is a unique initiative set up by Allport, which aims to ensure that all our operating logistics facilities worldwide are both ‘Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism’ (C-TPAT) compliant and independently audited by SGS under the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) base code.
The ESS Program was initiated in 2010 in response to growing demands from Allport’s retail clients such as Asda, Sainsbury’s and Arcadia, to embrace corporate social responsibility within the international supply chain.
Adding to existing audited sites in key locations such as Bangladesh, Dubai and Sri Lanka, the program has recently seen SGS audits carried out in it’s logistics centres in Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Yantian, Ningbo and Qingdao.
The addition of AEO status shores up Allport’s global network on entry into European Borders, but with the unique added value of the ESS programme which offers a truly end-to-end supply chain that is ethical, safe and secure.
