Far East Cargo Lines (FECL) are a leading NVOCC network, established in 1991 to offer a premium service between the Far East and Europe. ACS is a founding member and has chaired the organisation since the beginning. On the 4th October, our European members gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel at Heathrow for the first EU conference.
Members attended from Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Scandinavia, Spain and the UK. Representatives from Cargo Services Hong Kong also guested at the event.
The day was opened by Nick Toye, FECL Chairman, who welcomed all members. This was followed by a presentation from Keith Traylor, FECL General Manager, covering the forming of FECL, its current position, coverage and reach; as well as detailing new members, volume performances and a de-brief on the recent FECL European Survey. The afternoon saw presentations from Christopher Jessen of Blue Water Shipping, Denmark (Rateshare), and Patrick Yeo of Cargo Services (Freight Forwarding Solution).
We enjoyed much lively debate in the afternoon sessions with the day concluding with the unanimous agreement to hold another EU conference in 3 months time in January 2019 in Belgium.
